Sharon began her journey as an educator as a Teach for America Corps member. Witnessing education disparity on a systemic level led her to complete her doctorate in law at the University of Illinois. She worked as a litigator in a large law firm, and then took a sabbatical to Israel where she researched Jewish value-based curriculum as a Dorot Fellow in Israel, attended seminary, and started her family. When she returned to the States, Sharon worked as an educator, assistant director, and Documentation and Research Coordinator at Moriah ECC. She is currently the Director of IDEAL18, facilitating the creation of high-quality intergenerational programs and co-directing their national fellowship. Sharon is also the Education Director for Within the Image, based on the use of photography to promote Jewish identity. Sharon was a mentor for JECELI Chicago Cohort 3 and has facilitated numerous communities of practice. Sharon currently consults and speaks nationally on various topics of early childhood education, diversity and inclusion, and leadership.
