2012 research funded by the AVI CHAI Foundation conducted by Alex Pompson, Howard Deitcher, Daniel Held and Pearl Mattenson that studies the Bay Area Schools Israel Synergy Initiative ( BASIS). BASIS was a communal effort by the Jim Joseph Foundation and 11 Jewish day schools to intensify Israel education in their community.
