"Teach children to right wrongs..."

"... after all history will consist of the choices they make." World affairs as they have occurred recently and throughout history are daunting, overwhelming, and now too easy and tempting to ignore. Avi Baran Munro is the head of school of Community Day School in Squirrel Hill. As an educator, especially in the field of Jewish education, she is compelled to teach students to overcome the (understandable) temptation towards ignorance. In her incredible article, Baran Munro explores how we teach children to engage with difficult realities, reflect upon their personal and cultural pasts and presents, and make choices that not only are influenced by the world, but also impact it themselves.
